Girl. Reddish hair. Has eyes. Has strangely widely varying interests, some of which are represented in this tumbling record.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Carrington Pump House, built 1877, designed by colonial architect James Barnet who gave NSW some truly wonderful buildings.
My new favourite non-happy hour drink at Silo.
Some of my favourite cars from the Nostalgia Festival in Kurri yesterday. Nostalgia Fest keeps getting better, and full of more awesome things every year! :D
I’m not one much for birds, but I saw this dude circling over the house, and was awed by it’s magnificence, so I took a few pictures of it. Apparently it is a Square-tailed Kite (thanks internet!). I liked, as you can see from a few of the pictures, it was being harassed by Magpies, Magpie Larks and Noisy Minors, but didn’t give a crap, and went on being awesome and gliding.
Several weeks ago, Newcastle City Council received a complaint from a nearby resident. From what we can gather, the specifics of this complaint were related to a number of issues. First one being that there were people living in the building, secondly, that we were operating a commercial gallery…
Way to be stupid NCC. I spent considerable time over the last few years across the road in the Soque apartments, directly facing the Pigeon Coop, and was never bothered by noise or anything. It is ridiculous to say the building is not safe for people to be in, seeing as I have been in the storage place next door, and it is in pretty much the same condition, yet people, and especially businesses are happy to store their important things in. Funny that.
Finally got out to the Hunter Valley Christmas lights. I swear, they were prettier than last year :D
Bitter & Twisted was fun. Lessons learnt: 1. Butterscotch Moonshine tastes awesome and goes straight to you head, 2. Don’t have a loud pretend fighting argument with your sister while walking up to the HR, as they will think you are too drunk to be let in.
Soque Apartments. I took these photos a few weeks ago, but seeing as tomorrow is the last official day at the apartment, I’m putting them up now.
Bye Woolsheds! It was nice being a part of you for the last year or so!
This was the best thing I saw in the whole of yesterday. Pulled into a park at Mayfield Woolworths, looked to the left, and saw this. Would you trust your Dalmatian to drive?
Things I will miss about the Woolsheds: Part II - The Roslyn Avenue Cat.
I don’t know it’s real name, but I affectionately refer to it as Gordon Rangsley. I’m sure everyone who has visited Roslyn Avenue has come across him/her, as the lovely bundle of fur likes to spend time sleeping in the most inconvienent of places, like the middle of the road, or under people’s cars. My little buddy has come to recognise that I am someone who is good for a pat, so has taken to running down the pavement if he catches a glance of me walking down the road. The other day, I sat down to pat him, and next thing I know he has climbed on my lap and decided to take a nap. I vote for him as the friendliest, loveliest kitty ever. Love.
EDIT: Thanks to apainterinnewcastle I now know the kitty is called Miagi. Hurrah!
